This isn't a TOS or something like that. Read to understand how to play.

Welcome to Final Fantasy - The Fusion, rpg played by forum based on the famous Square saga!

Here you will find all the rules of our forum, please read them carefully so you won't get in trouble during your stay with us.

    Setting
Over twenty years ago a series of mysterious events caused the dimensions of all the worlds from different Final Fantasy to melt together giving birth to a brand new world. That great event was called the Fusion.
Note: be aware that events and characters from the FF saga are considered only historical in this world. The main character this time will be you!
Some worlds may be a bit stretched to adapt to the game, like those that have been destroyed in the original FF...let's just pretend they were rebuilt.
The various worlds are interconnected with each other through Atomos portals scattered all over the place and that allow fast travel between them.

    Character creation
Once you've registered you can create your character file(following the guidelines here). Races and jobs are many, chose the things you think suit you best and when you're finished post it in the forum "characters" where an admin will check if it is acceptable.

    Character growth and abilities
Each user will start their career by chosing a race which will be fixed and cannot be changed, and a starting class.
Race will influence all of your stats, while the class will impact primary stats, equipment available and weapon ranks.

Slaying enemies grants the character experience points and when accrued enough they will turn into a level up. All mobs give exp but the amount varies in relation to the difference between the character's level and the enemy's(the higher the enemy's level, the higher the exp obtained).

Every time a character levels up his HP and MP increase by 5 while other primary stats will increase by 2 points. However at each level up the character will also obtain 1 Stat Points(SP) that they can distribute at will among the 8 primary stats.

Except for some classes which start with an innate ability at level 1, all abilities have to be unlocked through Ability Points. APs are obtained each time the character levels up and they can be spent to learn either racial, class or weapon abilities(each cost 1 point).
Some abilities require others to be learned before they can be unlocked, but the path to chose otherwise is up to the user. You can consult the unlock paths in the guides section.

The character's class can be changed at any time without losing progress, this way the user can experience different playstyles but also unlock abilities from other classes that can be used as sub for the preferred class.
All abilities that have a "yes" at the sub field can be used as support abilities when changing to another class.
The amount of support abilities available depends on the current class' level: sub slots are unlocked at level 5 and they increase leveling up.
There are two types of sub slots: active and passive, depending on the type of ability chosen. Weapon Ranks of other classes can also be used in a sub slot, specifically as a passive sub.

    Equipment and money
Each player begins the game with an Onion Weapon based on his starter class, a set of body, leg and feet armor, and 1000 gil. Gil can be spent to buy further equipment, potions and also new companion heroes.
Gil is obtained together with exp when defeating enemies and just like exp it varies based on their strength. Equipment can also be obtained from dungeon bosses, said equipment is random and is always in a level range between the lowest party member and the boss of the dungeon.

Just like in a videogame equipment functions in "slots". You can place one piece of armor for each one of these slots:
    Head(including masks and goggles)
    Ears
    Neck
    Body
    Hands(includes weapons worn as gloves)
    Legs
    Feet
    Back(capes)
Fingers(you can have up to two rings)

As for the weapons you can bring to battle you can equip one on your back and two to your waist.

    Battles
Everytime you perform an action it is absolutely tentative, never ever be self-conclusive when describing what you're doing, it's always the opponent do decide the outcome. That being said a GM can at any time modify the outcome of an action correcting it: for example you might think that the way you tried to dodge was enough to avoid the attack but the GM can overturn this deliberating damage taken. Please don't protest when it happens, this is the norm as every player always assumes to have made the best action but this is not always the case. Try to be fair and know when your character is unable to avoid a hit, that way not only you won't lose a turn but you will also be appreciated a lot more by the GM.
Needless to say a battle ends when HP reach 0 or when someone surrenders.

    Posting
Very few simple rules so that everyone reading a quest or a role play will understand what's happening without confusion:
    - for direct speech use bold
    CODE
    <b>text</b>

    - for narration use third person and past(ie: Joe was walking down the road with a beer in one hand when he saw something..) with no code.
    - for the character's thoughts use italic
    CODE
    <i>text</i>

If you have to say something off topic during a quest(don't do it too much)just use a spoiler tag.
That being said, it is not necessary to write infinite walls of text for each post, but as long as there is some decent amount of role playing and narration it will be ok. Work on your posts and you too will have more fun using a well defined character.
The Chitchat section is an off-game section, so you can be yourself there.

    Forbidden
Spam(please don't post any links, especially in the tagboard)
    Racist/discriminating/offensive speeches
Vulgar language: the world isn't going to end if you say a bad word here and there, but please try to be polite to mantain a good atmosphere
QQing over masters decisions(oh god how hateful is that!): you can't avoid all cuts and score all hits, masters will often modify the outcome of an action when deemed necessary. Don't complain about it and just learn. Also keep in mind that sometimes imagination may vary between people, therefore what you think isn't necessarily what the master thinks.

Remember this is just a game and as such the mood has to always be playful. Flaming other users or targeting them during quests is unacceptable. If you have a problem with someone please keep it to private messages and if necessary request an admin intervention. But please, just try to have fun.

If there's anything you don't understand or if you have any doubt, refer to the faq or the help thread. Please don't send PMs if not necessary.

    Best regards, the foundress~
