Walse Tower was a big structure harboring a powerful crystal providing the Walse Kingdom with energy. Unfortunately however a nearby meteorite fallen centuries ago occasionally caused disturbances in the tower's magic protection causing it to be swarmed with monsters.
Someone had to make sure the crystal room on top of the tower was still unscathed. And if anything valuable was to be found inside the rule for every adventurer was always the same: finders keepers!
At the tower entrance Walse guards were waiting for the warriors who would the dirty job.

It was her first quest without Rikku so she had been quite nervous. She lowered her head and greeted them.

That new comrade looked way too young to go on quests in such a monster-filled area. Not one thing about her made her look like an adventurer. The Ribbon on the head only supported the image of a girl on her first day at school. Felli's eyes shifted to the other person. A grown up Mithra in a foreign red attire swinging around a large morgenstern. Why did you bring that kid here? This is not a school field trip! Also where is my second adjutant that I requested? It all blurted out of Felli.
The Mithra's facial expression turned into a frown. Don't lump me together with that brat! If you are unhappy with your pawns pay more attention when you hire them. The morgenstern's movements became wilder.
Heeeey, This is no way to treat a lady! Eiko pouted. Don't look down on me, I'll become the greatest Summoner of all time. Just you wait for it. She declared it with a proud face.

Naja couldn't help but laugh at the Pirate's dumbfounded face, before she suddenly yelled angrily. Standing around won't get me any money. Although I doubt that with a child and such an incompetent leader I'll get to see a single coin....I better head back. The Mithra turned around to leave.

The guards allowed the group to pass through the gate, although they were a bit perplexed at the presence of a little kid.
The inside of the tower was not impressive at all. A large space completely empty with a flight of stairs leading to the upper floor.
The most notable thing in that place was the very high humidity...and toads. There were a lot of toads scattered all over the place.
On the first floor however they found a particularly large type of toad...giant even, a gigantoad. The fat monster seemed to be sleeping surrounded by smaller green toads jumping about. The stairs leading to the next floor were on the opposite side of the room(the gigantoad was in the middle).

After Felli finished to examine the current area, she noticed that the Mithra stared at her.
Do I have something on my face? a flustered Viera asked.
Not really, I'm just checkin' wether you are worth to be rrrecruited for the Salaheem's Sentinels. They are the best mercenary company in the city I came from. Naja explained while still having her eyes set on the Pirate.
Oh, do you work for them? Rather than seriously asking she just wanted to shift the focus of attention away from her, as she felt that Eiko started to watch her as well.
Ohohohoh! The Monk laughed in an arrogant manner with the back of the hand in front of her mouth. Hooked already? You worm have yet to earn your rrright to ask that question!

Eiko had enough of this rambling. Hey, let us finish this quickly, my boyfriend is waiting for me.
The two grown up women abruptly fell into silence from the shock.
How could that child be ahead of them? That thought has the potential to haunt them a long time.
After short break they recovered and finally went ahead with the situation at hand.
As leader of the group it was on Felli to come up with a strategy.
Since we don't have any magical or ranged attack at our disposal, the plan will be simple...
She instructed them what to do in their first battle together and faced no complaints.
First they got into their ordered positions, Naja stayed at the entrance, Eiko moved to the left and Felli to the right of the Gigantoad. They did so as quiet as possible to not wake it up. With a hand signals they informed the Mithra that they were in position as Felli and Eiko could not see each other with the big monster between them. The Monk made the sign to start the battle. All of them rushed at the fiend, though the distance wasn't that big anymore the different body attributes showed. Thanks to her long legs Felli came into fighting range first and attempted a downward vertical slash with her sword. A split of a second later the quick MIthra swung her morgenstern horizontal at the enemy. Since the fiend was so big she though it would be more effective to emphasise her weapon's spikes rather than its weight. As expected Eiko was the last to perform her attack. Unexpected however, was the fact that Eiko seemed to be quite skilled with the flute. The poor gigantoad had the worst kind of awakening. Shocked, wounded and confused the frog looked around unsure of what just even happened.
Felli however seemed to be the one who striked first and so she became the object of the monster's interest by opening its very large mouth and trying to swallow the Viera whole!
Meanwhile the little toads around the area started croaking loudly jumping around scared. It used to be a quiet place until those three came in.. -

The very large mouth looked like a valid threat to Felli. She tried to avoid it with a distance-creating backflip.
Naja on the other hand kept being offensive and swung her morgenstern at the right hind leg which faced her. She hoped to support the Viera with it as it might hinder the toad from jumping after her.

Felli was probably trying to impress the Mithra with that backflip but it fell short when the monster's mouth hit her causing her to slam back on the ground. At least Naja's strike put an end to that battle killing off the giant frog, making Eiko's following attack unnecessary.
The little toads meanwhile kept on croaking alarmed making it painful on the most delicate ears of Naja and Felli, but at least the road was clear and they could procede to the next floor.

Pathetic. Naja stood in front of Felli and showed no sign to help her up. If you're always like this you aren't even suitable to be a Private Third Class. She made her way to the next floor.
Eiko followed her. When she passed the Viera she glanced at her but remained silent. The Pirate couldn't figure out what she was thinking.

A little toad jumped on her lap. Ed ec cu hueco rana... fyed! A sound was missing.
Her ears couldn't pick up the footsteps of Eiko and Naja anymore due to all the croaking. She jumped back on her feet and looked around for them. Felli saw them being at the stairs to the next floor.
A loud bang sounded through the room. It seemed to have even reached Naja and Eiko's ears, despite all the croaking toads, who then turned around.
The Viera stood at the sound's origin with red cheeks and shaking hands. Hu, haf vmuun, haf lryhla. E fuh'd keja ib drec aycemo!

And so the girls reached a new floor in the tower.
The environment was pretty much still the same: wet, frogs all over the place in a large empty room with the stairs to the next floor on the opposite side from where they were coming from.
This time there were two gigantoads blocking the way and they were awake, idling in the middle of the room facing each other. But considering there were no hiding spots it was unlikely that they wouldn't see the girls coming if they approached them.. -

Felli observed the new place with displeasure, although her face didn't show it. After just having found a renewed resolve to bring the quest to a good end as a real leader, she tried her hardest not to reveal any crack in her facade. She even went so far to control her breathing with her thougths, avoiding deep breaths as those would be picked up as sign of uneasiness. The Viera wouldn't be able to forgive herself another display of incompetence.

The scenery didn't change much compared to the previous floor, the situation with the monsters was far worse than before though.

After a brief moment she had decided the tactic for this battle.
Listen up. We are going to attck the left toad first. Felli declared that with a voice as serious as her face. We will have to line up like this. I will take the position closest to the right toad. Eiko, you will be between me and Naja. Naja you will get behind the toad and use your hardest attack. We need to take it down fast.
When the Leader finished her speech Eiko and Naja didn't voice any objection and lined up the way they were told.
Felli glanced at her two followers. They looked to be in higher spirits than before. Maybe it was just her illusion but she thought she could even see a small smile on the Mithra's face.
Even if it was not the case, it gave the Pirate more confidence.
Okay, Let's do this!
They ran towards the left toad paying attention to stay in line so they would arrive at the same time. Felli aimed at the right front leg of the left Gigantoad as she swung her sword down.
The small Eiko next to her made the knee of the right hind leg her target. As the flute drew closer with high-speed it even gave off a tone. As the leader demanded Naja gave it her all. She used the Wyrm Style to increase her attacking power when she got behind the toad. The gigantoads as predicted saw the assaulters incoming. The one targeted jumped backwards to avoid Felli's frontal strike, but it ended up right into the ones executed by Naja and little Eiko. The frog thus turned around to look at the mithra and tried to slap her with its tongue moving it with an upward movement like a whip.
The same thing did the other gigantoad but without moving from its spot, showing that it could reach even at distance. The toad tried to whip Felli on her right side as it was the one exposed to the enemy.. -

As the targeted toad turned towards the Mithra, Felli could focus on the incoming tongue of the other gigantoad.
With the distance between her and the attacker she had some time to follow the tongue with her eyes.
The Viera tried to evade with a jump towards the first toad when she thought to have the figured out the path tongue.
Regardless of wether it would hit her or not, afterwards she had to support her team in bringing their enemy down.

Felli's backstep wasn't enough as the frog simply pushed its tongue further slapping her side with it. On the other front however the combined attacks of the trio were able to put down the fat amphibean(and Naja managed to avoid damage by cutting its tongue).
The gigantoad left alone jumped forward to close the gap with Felli and attack her again with its tongue, this time with a lash from left to right against the Viera's right side.. -

The Viera turned around to face the last foe after the first gigantoad finally fell. After she failed to evade two times with jumping away, she decided to block the tongue this time with her new shield. It wasn't a big shield like those used by Paladins, but it was way lighter. Felli thought it would be well suited for a beginner like her.
With her eyes fixated on the incoming attack, she adjusted the height on which she held the shield. It was in a similar manner that she knew from parrying with her dagger on a previous quest. Wherever she would feel the pressure from the tongue, she would slash at it with her sword.
Thanks to the jump by the toad towards her leader, Naja and Eiko didn't have a huge distance to overcome.
Naja attacked the right foreleg, Eiko the left one.
The summoner, still limited in her attack variations, wanted to bash the enemy like the previous gigantoad with her flute. Again a small tone came out as she moved the instrument in a quick manner towards the leg.
